These terms apply to all orders for original works and limited edition prints from Maarten tekent. Last updated: October 2026.

All prices are in euros and include VAT. Shipping costs are not included in the price. Frames and mats are not included either; the framed images in the shop are for illustration only. We reserve the right to correct obvious pricing errors.
Every original is unique. To buy one, use the ‘Inquire about this artwork’ button on the work’s page; we will then agree on payment and delivery by email. You are welcome to view an original in De Rijp before you buy; get in touch to arrange a visit.
Prints are giclée reproductions on Hahnemühle Photo Rag 270 gram paper, in editions of 30 copies per work, numbered and signed by the artist. Every print comes with a certificate of authenticity. An edition will not be extended or reprinted. Once it has sold out, it is gone.
Some prints are in stock; others are printed to order. Prints are delivered within 3 weeks at most. During holiday periods this may take somewhat longer; we will let you know if so.
You place an order by sending us the order form or an email. An order becomes binding once we have confirmed it by email. After confirmation we send you a payment link. Payment is made in advance, using the payment methods offered through that link (such as iDEAL or credit card), processed by the payment provider Mollie (the Netherlands). We ship your order once we have received the payment. If we cannot supply the work, for example because the edition is sold out, we tell you immediately and you pay nothing.
The choice of frame and mat is a personal one. If you wish, Maarten can arrange framing in consultation with you. The price of framing is agreed separately.
Works are carefully packaged and shipped within the Netherlands and abroad. Shipping costs are € 10.00 per order within the Netherlands, € 15.00 per order to other countries in the European Union and € 50.00 per order to countries outside the European Union. Originals are shipped as soon as possible after payment, and in any case within 30 days of your order. For deliveries outside the European Union, any import duties or taxes are for the buyer’s account.
If your order arrives damaged, please contact us as soon as possible, preferably within 7 days, with photos of the damage and the packaging. We will then find a solution together: repair, replacement or a refund.
If you are a consumer, you may withdraw from your purchase within 14 days of receiving it, without giving a reason. This applies to originals and prints alike. Let us know by email, for instance: ‘I hereby give notice that I withdraw from my purchase of [work], ordered on [date]. Name and address: […].’ You then have 14 days to return the work.
Return costs: you pay the cost of sending the work back. Please pack it carefully and insure the shipment; the work must reach us undamaged. Once we have received it, we refund the purchase price, including the original shipping costs, within 14 days.
We do our best to deliver exactly what you ordered. If something is wrong, tell us by email. We will respond within 14 days and will repair, replace or refund as appropriate. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected by these terms.
The copyright in all works and images on this website remains with Maarten Bakker. Buying a work or a print makes you the owner of that physical object only. Reproducing or publishing a work, in whole or in part, requires written permission.
We use your name, address and email address only to handle your order or inquiry. Messages sent through the contact form are processed by Formspark (Trampoline Software SRL, Belgium), which stores them within the European Economic Area and forwards them to us by email. We share your data only with the parties needed to handle your order or inquiry, such as the payment provider and the carrier. We keep order records for as long as the tax rules require. You can ask us at any time to see, correct or delete your data.
Dutch law applies to these terms and to all orders. This does not take away the mandatory consumer protection of the country where you live.
